Deuteronomy 30:11-20
This is not rocket science people!
It's not brain surgery! These are
things we say when we try to get
people to understand that what we're
asking of them is really pretty simple.
It should be plainly understood
and easily done. It's obvious.
That's what the Lord had
Moses say to the Israelites.
You have seen it with your own eyes,
heard it with your own ears,
even experienced it for yourself.
God has done it all! He delivered
them from Egypt, defeated their enemies,
provided daily food and water, kept their
clothes from wearing out, and much more!
Now He was going to drive the enemy
out of Canaan so His people could take
over their houses, vineyards, and livestock.
In return, God demanded worship and obedience.
If they didn't do that, they would
eventually be destroyed. The choice was
theirs to make. Life or death?
Blessings or curses? It should
not have been a hard choice.
They verbally made the right choice but
were easily turned away from following through.
What about us? It's not rocket science.
It's plain to see that God deserves
and demands that we trust and obey Him.
So, choose life and blessings!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, open our eyes to see
all the blessings that You have given us.
Give us a heart of appreciation.
Help us follow through with worship and obedience.
Help us choose life and blessings.
P.S. When we first moved to Pana,
we searched for a house to rent.
We finally connected with the lady
who would become our landlady.
She had two houses available for
rent and we could have either one.
The one we preferred was clearly
the better house. I asked her
about the rent, and she said we
could have either one at the same price!
It was a no-brainer! Why would
anyone settle for the lesser of
the two choices? The Israelites
often did! Sadly, we often do, too!
